The Underground ministry is about passionately pursuing God while developing authentic community and relationships with each other for the purpose of impacting our community. Learning to live life together and to glorify God by living a life of purpose is our goal.
We live this out in a number of different ways here at The Underground: The Underground worship service, Refuge groups that meet throughout the week, and through fellowship gatherings where we meet, eat and hang out together.
Refuge Groups: Refuel. Refine. Refire
Our Refuge Groups are about developing community and relationships and learning to live life together. Relationships are an important aspect of The Underground; it’s where true friendships are created and thrive. In addition, Refuge Groups can be broken down into three main areas: Refuel, Refine, and Refire.
Refuel: Life has a way of draining us physically, emotionally and especially spiritually. Refuge Groups allow us to recharge through friendship, prayer, and support. It is a place where you can be yourself, be honest with others, and be real.
Refine: Let's be honest, we all have areas where we could grow and change in our relationship with Jesus Christ. Refuge Groups are a place where you can be challenged to pursue God with all of your heart. This is not a place to be perfect but to learn to pursue God while applying Biblical principles. Knowing what you believe, and why, are key components to growing in God. You will be challenged here.
Refire: We believe passion and spiritual hunger are characteristics of a growing and maturing Christian. It is our prayer and desire that you come to know God intimately and encounter a living God. We believe that we are born to know God and to serve Him with all that we are. When you have a true encounter with Jesus Christ, you can never be the same again. We will inspire, encourage and help you to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ.
